Information Security is a safeguard against information theft. In the financial services industry, transactions are dependent on network and computer availability. Every minute of downtime can equate to millions of dollars in lost transactions and can jeopardize a financial institutions relationship with its customers. Network vulnerabilities including unprotected conduit, downtime and computer malfunctions are unacceptable. Hand-held coupling devices, originally designed as testing tools, are commercially available and can easily be employed by those wishing to engage in information theft.
