Radar Sensors

Applications: Wide area detection and where fencing is not present

  • Determines number of intruders and their locations - displays breadcrumb trails
  • All weather conditions – sees through rain, snow, fog, smoke, and sand
  • Cost-saving, easy installation – quick tactical set-up
  • Camera interface with relay preset or slews cameras to field of view to capture target

The next generation of security threats to your facility may come from the sky. Radar solutions provide drone detection which ensures privacy by depriving outside surveillance and safeguarding people and resources. Correctional facilities will find drone detection especially key in detecting the delivery of weapons, tools, and contraband.

A complete radar system includes one or more radar heads and a NetworkedIO server. These radar heads are field-deployed on a variety of structures. Each one “sees” what is going on in their field of view, transferring the data from the radar head into the SpotterRF NetworkedIO server. These servers provide the graphical visual indication, user interface, and a high-level computer integration for video, access control, and security management systems.

Fiber SenSys, Inc. has partnered with SpotterRF to reach beyond the fence line or where no fence exists to provide the market’s best solution for early notification of intruders in a large area.

Microwave Sensors

Applications: Sliding gates and perimeters where fencing is not practical

  • Digital or analog
  • Distances up to 500 meters
  • Meets most specifications for volumetric sensors
  • Stand-alone or as a secondary sensor for high-security sites

The MD5xxx Microwave Defender volumetric sensors with X-band or K-band radio waves offer the best solution for protecting gates or sites with no perimeter fenceline. The Microwave Defender family of alarm processors employs leading-edge high-performance digital technology or low-cost analog microwave technology combined with digital signal processing (DSP). Digital models provide enhanced reliability through the DSP analysis of transmitted microwave signals using “fuzzy” logic.

The digital models employ microprocessor controlled logic and DSP technology to create advanced behavior models to profile and analyze received signals, looking for intruder-generated signal events. The MD5xxx detects intruders walking, running, crawling, or rolling, at distances ranging from 50m up to 500m and records all alarm events on the unit. The microwave intrusion detection products are immune to rapid temperature gradation and provide continuous environmental monitoring.

Deployed in transmit (Tx) and receive (Rx) unit pairs, the Microwave Defender is ideal for protecting high-risk sites, such as nuclear power plants, military bases, petrochemical sites, and correctional facilities. Additionally, the 16 selectable, tuned crystal, modulation channels are controlled by the microprocessor and resist masking and other tamper attempts while providing reliable intrusion detection.
